Wherein I acknowledge the error of my ways

I have to confess that, to some members of my family, I am politically a disgrace, leaning so far to the Left as to have abandoned all rational thinking! I believe (or did before my new-found appreciation for the truths of the Right) in social programs to benefit the poor and – wonderful word – the disadvantaged. I have become reconciled that some on the far right fringe have lost all sense of reality. I realize that many are addicted to Fox News and its prime time assemblage of provocateurs. The addiction has cause otherwise (I assume) rational human beings to, as one contributor to Orble continues to do, refer to President Barack Obama as “B.O. (B.S.)” on the ground that the president was alleged to have attended a college and received a scholarship under the name of his adoptive father, Lolo (more. . .)

The President’s health care address and the GOP reaction

Last Wednesday, President Obama, that well-known Socialist-Fascist-Kenyan-tool of Marxists everywhere, in between meeting with revolutionaries who are tasked with subjecting our kids’ tender ears with un-American thoughts of killing Granny, addressed a joint session of Congress to plead for an overhaul of our health care delivery system. The opposing GOP acknowledges that the system is flawed and needs reform but urges restraint and warns against rushing into things. More evidence for the need for expanded health care

Insurance and pharmaceutical companies and their GOP lackeys, mentally challenged talk show hosts (read: Glenn, Rush, Michael Savage, and a few others) have been active in stirring the Rabid Right’s patriots; a foul deed is about to take place, our children are about to be exposed to a communicable disease, they will, by next week, be donning their hidden brown shirts, retrieve the secret communication devices provided by the (gasp!) liberals and, after disclosing all of the (more. . .)

In an earlier post, I posited, that the GOP had essentially given up any role in the health care reform process, notwithstanding the fact that the vast majority of Americans want that process to continue.  I suggested the bases for Republican political philosophy: cut taxes on wealthy, give government operations to private industry and make people afraid – and everything will be perfect, again.  I called the GOP the party of “no-no”, objecting to everything, never proposing an alternative and (more. . .)
